NFB Thursday: Got sixteen minutes?

The ridiculously warm weather here in Toronto got me thinking about Belinda Oldford’s brilliant meditation on aging and coming to grips with one’s own death; ‘Come Again in Spring’. The 2007 NFB short animated film trips on tranquillity  a beautiful soundtrack and the dream-like premise of an old man whose given three attempts to postpone his date with the reaper, each requiring he recall a memory more obscure than the last. Montreal based Oldford hasn’t done anything before, or since, but this…is genius.

Speaking of Canadian film, check out this edit of Ryan Larkin’s ‘Walking’, another animated short.
